A telephone service is now provided by the Rennie Grove Hospice.

Traditionally Rennie Grove Hospice Care has provided bereavement support to the families of their deceased patients.  However since the closing of St Albans Bereavement Network/Bereavement Matters they are now providing a telephone support line which is open to people in the St Albans area, which includes Wheathampstead, regardless of whether they have a connection with Rennie Grove or not.

The number for the support line is  01727 638008.  The line is open on Tuesday and Friday afternoons from 1.30pm to 4pm .

The line is staffed by trained and supervised volunteers.  People are welcome to call the line more than once.  If it appears that ongoing support will be needed for a while they may be able to provide up to 6 sessions of face to face support by one of their trained Listeners, or a place in one of their bereavement support groups, although there is sometimes a short waiting list.

If the need is for support outside of the remit  or experience of Rennie Grove  the team will signpost people to the most appropriate agency to help them get the right kind of support.
